The Four Best Teething Remedies (no essential oils)

Jan 15, 2025 · 6 Comments

There is not much a parent would not do to try and soothe a teething baby. Often times teething results in flushed cheeks, fever, lack of appetite and general irritability. So what is a parent to do? Well here are a few remedies that have been very effective with my five boys!

Four teething remedies. Camilia, wash cloth with water, frozen breast milk & mesh feeder, andc teeth tamer.

Teething remedies

When looking for a teething remedy you want something that’s going to be safe, effective, and affordable. These teething tricks are just that. They work so well, they can be used often, and don’t contain any harsh ingredients! Often teething supplements can contain essential oils which are very potent and can cause adverse reaction. These remedies are all free of essential oil!

wash cloth and a measuring cup of water

#4

The fourth on the list is a damp, cold or slightly frozen wash cloth. This helps by numbing the gums, as well as it provides a mild gum massage by chewing on it. To use this remedy get a clean wash cloth, making sure its free of all softeners and detergents. Make the corners wet with clean drinking water and wring them out well, put in the fridge until cold. Alternately you can freeze it, remove from freezer and allow to warm up for a few minutes, ensure its not to cold before giving to your baby to chew on.

Camilia herbal teething remedy

#3

In third place is camelia, this is a liquid homeopathic medicine that works very well. It helps with pain, irritability and helps babies sleep better! This can be bought at Walmart and is very affordable. This is a great option if you have an early teether that can’t sit up and hold onto the breastmilk pops yet.

bag of frozen breast milk and mesh feeder

#2

Coming in close to the number one spot is frozen breast milk pops! Freeze breast milk in bags, then break small chunks off and put them into a mesh feeder; allow to sit for a minute and soften slightly. Let your baby chew on these healthy pops as often as they want too. Just make sure baby has a bib, as these are as messy as they are helpful!

By far the best teething remedy I have ever used is Earthley’s Teeth Tamer! This has been a life saver for my boys. It’s free of essentials oils and is instead made with whole cloves. Cloves can act as an anesthetic to stop teething pain, and when used in whole form do not cause the same side effects that essential oils do. It also contains catnip which can help calm a cranky baby, as well as help with sleep. Tried and trusted by parents Earthleys Teeth Tamer was voted Parents Picks Awards in 2024!

Teething can be so hard on both baby and parents, but with these remedies you’ll be well on your way to a happy, calm baby again!
