A bit about nebulizing silver

Nebulizing colloidal silver is a great easy, and inexpensive way to help with symptoms of respiratory viruses. It works quickly, and effectively. Nebulizers work by creating a mist out of the liquid. This mist can then be breathed deep into the lungs, this can help thin mucus, open the airways, and calm inflammation. All of this can help to make it easier to cough up mucus, and make breathing easier.

About silver nanoparticles

Silver nano particles have been shown to have anti inflammatory, antiviral, and antimicrobial activity. It may be effective in treating respiratory inflammation and infections caused by viruses and or microbes. Its been shown beneficial for pneumonia patients, as well as those suffering from a covid infection. Here is a link to a study from pub med showing this here.

Some people consider silver to be a heavy metal, however it is actually considered a transition metal. Some other transition metals are iron, zinc, chromium, and copper. Just like those other metals you don’t want to over due it. Silver is a great tool to have in your health kit, but knowing when and how to use it is essential! You can learn more about how to use silver safely here directly from sovereign silvers website.

Which brand of silver

Sovereign Silver is one of the most trusted brands. I would recommend using sovereign silver, but I have used other brands from our local health store in a pinch. We opt for 10ppm for all our house hold uses, including nebulizing. Colloidal silver is great to have on hand for more then just nebulizing, we use it for mouth ulcers, sore throats, cuts and more. Sovereign Silver can be purchased at many health stores including sprouts, and of course amazon.

How to decide what to nebulize

When deciding what to nebulize here are a few things to consider. How old is the person who is nebulizing? If you are nebulizing a infant or young child then saline is a great place to start. Colloidal silver and vitamin c are also good options for children and adults. Nebulizing peroxide should only be done for adults.

What type of nebulizer and how it works

When choosing a nebulizer its best to opt for a compressor (Jet) style, these are usually more expensive then the ultrasonic units, but they don’t clog as easy, and generally last longer. The compressor style units are also good for nebulizing a wider verity of things (think vitamin c) then the ultrasonic ones. If you are anything like me nebulizing will become something you highly recommend.

The Jet nebulizers uses a compressor to push air through a narrow tube, then through an opening to create a jet. This movement creates a vacuum that then pushes the liquids out of the nebulizer in mist form. Ultrasonic nebulizers cause a type of vibration to break apart the liquid to create a mist. Compressor style nebulizers are what health professionals use, including hospitals.

How to nebulize silver

To nebulize silver just add your 10ppm silver to the medicine cup of your nebulizer. No need to dilute with anything. If you have never nebulized silver before it’s best to start slow and increase as you go. This is to ensure you tolerate the treatments well. This is also a good rule of thumb when nebulizing for children. Get whatever end you prefer (the mouth piece or mask) and begin your treatments. Nebulize for five to ten minutes. The maximum time you should nebulize for is fifteen minutes.

How often should you nebulize

I usually opt for three treatments a day, but you can do them more frequently if your dealing with a difficult or stubborn illness. When my husband was dealing with a very bad bout of something that had him gasping for air at night; he would nebulize before work, twice during his lunch break, then for five minutes every hour in the evening before bed. Within 24hrs he saw significant relief. I would only nebulize this often until I saw a reduction in symptoms, or no more then one day, after which I would again go down to three times a day until symptoms had subsided.

Very informative! Thanks. As a full-time RVing Family of 7, we don’t have room for a ton of medicines and remedies, and Sovereign Silver made the cut for us. So to learn of more ways we can use it – is really helpful! Appreciate it!

The study was done using 20ppm diluted up to 15%. I would probably opt to dilute it a little with distilled water.
