- Baking Soda
- Essential Oils for fragrance (optional)
These ingredients come together to create a wonderful, clean, and effective deodorant!

Diatomaceous Earth
Diatomaceous earth helps to neutralize odors as well as absorb moisture. It also helps to pull toxins from the body as well as heavy metals. Such a great addition to this homemade deodorant.
Arrowroot Powder
Arrowroot Powder is also great at absorbing moisture; and it helps with the texture. It will leave your underarms nice and soft.
Baking Soda
Baking Soda helps to neutralize any odor causing bacteria in your armpits.
Shea Butter
Shea Butter gives this deodorant a soft spreadable lotion like texture. It also helps keep your underarms nice and soft!
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is another player in the bacteria fighting game. It also adds a nice mild scent if you choose not to add essential oils.
Essential Oils
Essential oils are here for my scent loving friends. Making sure you get to enjoy all the wonderful smells without all the negative side effects of chemically scented body products.

Regular deodorant versus natural
For a lot of us we grew up just grabbing a deodorant off any store shelf without thinking twice about it. Never realizing we were clogging our lymphatic system with aluminum. For women this is especially concerning, because our lymph nodes in our armpit are so closely linked with our breast tissue. Antiperspirants are also designed to clog our sweat glands and prevent sweating. Sweating is a very important form of detoxification. These are only a few of the many reasons to switch to a natural deodorant!
When it comes to natural deodorant people usually have fear that it wont work, and for some on the market this is true. However, this homemade version works better then store bought! Although, it can take your body a little while to adjust. Some people might even need to do a armpit detox before they find natural deodorant will work for them. Also, applying it the night before seems to make it more effective. Just be patient, your body will thank you.
Baking soda can be harsh on the skin, for some people who are extra sensitive, so don’t apply right after shaving. Also the baking soda can darken your skin, if this happens switch to a baking soda free deodorant for a little while until the skin color turns back to normal. This natural deodorant is more likely to get on your clothes since there’s no chemical to make it invisible. But don’t fret it washes out super easy.
