Natural allergy relief

There is nothing natural that will work as quickly as conventional allergy medication. These natural products listed will need to be taken consistently for a few weeks to reap the benefits. If you’re looking for relief from itchy eyes, runny or stuffy nose but you want to stay away from the side effects of over the counter allergy medication then give these a try!

Why drop the over the counter medication

When ever possible its best to stick to natural products. Usually (but not always) our body won’t become reliant on natural products. Unlike conventional products which often have to be increased in dose, or switched up all together.

Although allergy medication is widely used and generally considered safe they are not without side effects including: headaches, stomach aches, dizziness, drowsiness, along with some more serious side effects like increasing your risk of dementia. As with all medications it is important to weigh the pros and cons, and if there is an effective natural healthier option then always opt for that.

Natural Options

Here is a list of safer natural options.

Dropper bottle of Earthleys sinus saver dropping liquid back into the bottle.

#1 Earthley Sinus Saver

The reason I put this one at #1, is this is the one that I personally use every year during allergy season. I like tinctures as they’re often more potent, easier to absorb and overall quicker acting then pill form supplements. Earthley is also a great clean company. They make a variety of great quality natural products. I usually see relief from my symptoms in about three days of consistent use. One of the active ingredients in sinus saver is quercetin. Quercetin is found in some of the ingredients and is in doses of 38-42 mg/ml.

Quercetin is a antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. It has been shown to have a unique ability to treat symptoms of skin, food, and respiratory allergies. Check out the study below to learn more.

Sting Nettle is another great addition to this tincture. Stinging Nettle has been shown to reduce histamine in the body. In a study that was done up to 57% of patients reported relief from their allergies using this alone. Here’s a link so you can check it out.

Turmeric is the next great addition. With its high curcumin content turmeric acts as an immune modulator. It’s been shown to greatly reduce the symptoms of allergic rhinitis. Here’s another study to read all about it.

The rest of the ingredients (elderberry, black pepper, dandelion) are added to help with absorption or for immune modulation. So it should be easy to see by now why I ranked this one #1 and why it’s my go to! If you would like to give this a try too, here’s a link and a discount code.

#2 Quercetin

Just simply quercetin. Quercetin on its own is also a good natural allergy relief options. Taken in supplement form you may need to take it for several weeks to start seeing relief. Once again quercetin has been shown to have a huge effect on skin, food, and respiratory allergies. Here’s the link to one of the studies again.

A bag of be pollen laying on a table with bee pollen pellets spread out beside it.

#3 Bee Pollen

So like many natural health products the studies on bee pollen for allergies are limited. There is great evidence that the flavonoids in bee pollen (along with many other great health compounds) can help prevent allergy symptoms. There are even people who claim to have fully healed there allergies using bee pollen.

Now the reason I ranked this one #3 is for two reasons.

  1. Local be pollen can be hard to find. To get the most benefit it needs to be local.
  2. Possible allergic reactions.

Depending on what the bees may have been pollinating, you could have a severe allergic reaction. It’s recommended to start with only one granule to see how you react. Slowly increase this by a few granules a day over the period of about a month. So make sure to do your due diligence before using, making sure it’s right for you. Here’s a few more studies if you want to go more in depth.

So there you have it, 3 wonderful effective allergy relief options. These are not only effective for allergies, they come with other health benefits along with it. Its always a win when you can avoid harsh medications and stick to a more natural remedy! So don’t let allergies keep you from loving every season this year!

Great ideas and guide to Natural Allergy Relief 3 Great Remedies. My grandmother always protected her stinging nettle in her urban garden. I remember my grandfather mumbling, “they’re just weeds-everyone else cuts them down, but NO We have to keep them.” I never understood why she kept them. Idk how or if she used them, but know I know their benefits! Thank you.
