This is the story of how I started my blog and how its doing at every stage.

When and how I started
I started dabbling with the idea of starting a blog in the beginning of 2023. I have a passion for natural health, healthy cooking, cooking from scratch ect. I love talking to people about healthy living. How to treat minor ailments naturally, how to cook food from scratch and avoid overly processed foods. So why not share this passion in a blog?
I took Lisa Basses free blogging masterclass at the beginning of the year. In the summer I took the leap and bought her full course. There are so many blogging courses out there, but having followed Farm House on Boone for a long time already I decided I wanted to take hers. I’m glad I did! Although there were a few things I wish she had gone through more in depth, her class was quite thorough and very simple. I am not great with technology so the simpler the steps the better!
This website was created from start to finish by me. I picked a theme, designed the logo, created menus and adjusted colors. I’m still in the process of fully customizing it so hopefully it will start looking better and better. All this to say its been a challenge in the best way possible.

My first post
I started and finished Lisa’s course very quickly but I still didn’t publish my first post for awhile. I began making content so that I would have several posts waiting once I was ready; then I started getting in my own head. I doubted that I was capable of writing anything interesting; I doubted I could run the back end of a blog, after all it took me several weeks to figure out how to get my newsletter subscription to pop up on my main page. I began to get more and more discouraged.
Luckily I have a supportive husband who continued to encourage me, and my sister in law asked me frequently how it was coming along. She was so interested to read my content and so encouraging; this really helped me. Finally on February 12, 2024 I published my first post you can see it here. I was so nervous but I began sharing it with friends. I made a pin and had my first Pinterest traffic. I was on Pinterest checking my traffic more then I would like to admit for the next month as I slowly grew my following.

As I continue
As I continue blogging I have definitely run into some challenges. With five littles and homeschooling two soon to be three of them extra time is hard to come by. Also coming up with interesting and beneficial content for my reader can also be a challenge. I will continue to do my best to come out with content that will help you keep you and your families healthy, well nourished, and entertained! Thanks for being here and stay tuned for more blogging updates!
